Designed for young people aged 17 to 24, and First Nations people in the Shoalhaven, this program provides practical training, accredited qualifications, workplace experience and personalised support to help you succeed.
Care Sector Taster Course
STARTS WEDNESDAY, 15 JULY
5 Week Course
Get a practical introduction to essential first aid and workplace safety skills. Learn the basics of CPR, emergency response, infection control, and safe work practices in a hands-on environment. Perfect if you are exploring a career in aged care, disability support, health or community services.
Participants who complete the Taster Course may receive recognition of prior learning (RPL) for completed units, helping to fast-track their qualification.
Sessions:
Wednesday and Thursday
Main Delivery: 9.00am to 3.30pm
Study Hub: 3.30pm to 4.30pm

STEP 1:
Care Sector Taster Course
The Care Sector Taster Course is a great way to explore the industry and gain valuable skills before either starting work or committing to a full qualification.
Participants will complete the following nationally recognised units:
HLTAID009: Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID011: Provide First Aid
HLTINF006: Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
HLTWHS002: Follow safe work practices for direct client care

STEP 2:
Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability)
Ready to take the next step?
Participants can continue into a nationally recognised CHC33021: Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability), one of Australia's most in-demand qualifications.
The qualification includes:
