Situated in beautiful, tranquil Sanctuary Point in the Shoalhaven, BCR Communities' Paradise Cottage is the perfect location for a short break.

Designed for people over 65 who rely on a carer including for those needing support with dementia, the comfortable cottage is close to the water, wildlife and local attractions of the
Bay and Basin area.

Carers can have time to relax and recharge at home knowing the person they care for is safe, well-supported and enjoying a range of activities during their stay.

Paradise Respite Cottage welcomes guests from all over the Shoalhaven and Illawarra including Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Gerringong, Nowra and Ulladulla

Just a day or a whole holiday

Our services include interactive day programs, overnight stays, and short-term respite stays for up to three nights. Every Monday there is dementia specific social group which focuses on activities that foster friendship as well as helping with everyday living skills and memory retention.

Our people

Our professional and experienced care workers will provide ongoing assistance with daily care needs, prepare delicious home-cooked meals and coordinate local outings and fun activities. Our Registered Nurses will meet you on arrival and ensure all medical needs are met too.

Individually tailored programs

Our care team really take the time to get to know the clients and their carers before tailoring a program for their stay. By finding out about daily routines, what they enjoy to eat and their favourite activities and interests, we can ensure our guests feel safe and secure while staying at the cottage. This also gives carers and families peace of mind. Being next door to the BCR Communities Activities Hub means we have access to an art and music studio, a wood working shed, extensive vegetable and flower gardens and even some friendly chooks! The Cottage also has a range of fun outdoor and indoor games.

The details

The cottage can accommodate up to five guests and bookings can be made for an overnight or up to three night stay. To be eligible to stay at Paradise Cottage, you must have a carer and be approved through My Aged Care for Cottage Respite.
